Copic Markers

I wanted to post my collection of Copic Markers on this blog. I’ve gotten back into using this medium, and I’m enjoying it! I used to be frustrated with the outcomes because I was using printing paper, but I recently bought a Copic sketchbook, and I am much more satisfied with the final results. I can actually blend decently with this paper!

If I could go back in time, I would have bought different colors. With my budget, I should have gone for a wider variety, but some colors, like RV29, R17, and R29 or BG45 and BG53 are too similar. But I guess you live and you learn.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to everyone!

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted… sorry about that. Since it’s Christmas holidays, I hope to catch up and post everything I’ve done recently!

Till then, I hope you enjoy this Christmas drawing that I did the other day. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to finish it by Christmas day, but since traditionally there were 12 days of Christmas (until January 6), I hope there’s still time to enjoy it 🙂

Also, as a Christmas family activity, I first made a coloring book type of outline so that we could all have fun coloring it together. My parents didn’t finish theirs, so I can’t upload theirs, but the outline is below, in case you want to have a go too 🙂

Danger!

Hello, everyone! Yet again, I’m very sorry that I’ve disappeared again for – how long has it been – around a month? It was that period of tension, fear, suspense… yes, you’ve got it, it was exam period again. I know that I had said in my last post that it was all finished, but it turned out that I actually had two left… It’s finally all done now (at least for this year) so now I can do art all summer!

This week’s IF theme was Danger, and so I thought I’d draw this little cartoon down here. I’m actually going on a trip tomorrow, so I thought I’d fix up something quick with my Faber-Castell marker and Copics.

The exam period sure felt like I was running away from a gigantic shark, and I think I succeeded! 🙂

Swimming away from that shark called bad grades…

Christmas Nativity

Hello, everyone and Merry Christmas! I hope that, wherever you are, you are enjoying this wonderful time with a happy and joyful heart.

I know that I haven’t posted anything for over a month, and I’m sorry. I was sick recently (winter is the flu season!) but am better now. And because I am better, I have decided to draw none other than the exact meaning of Christmas: the scene of the birth of Jesus Christ.

Last year, I drew baby Jesus in a manger. So this year, I wanted to extend it to the whole scene, barn and all. So, without further ado, here it is!

Figure Skater

I originally posted this on my Facebook page for an art nomination, but thought I’d post it here on my blog too. I sketched this illustration, outlined it with my wonderful artist marker, and colored it with Copics. My beautiful new artist marker is waterproof, so I can color with Copics without any worries of smudging the ink. Hurray!

I was thinking of doing the background, but I think it looks like ice as it is. What do you think?

The True Meaning of Christmas

It’s finally CHRISTMAS! The day of presents under the tree, caroling, and drinking eggnog…

But wait, where is the birth of Jesus Christ in all this celebration?

For many of us, in the midst of all this festivity and time with family and friends, we lose the true meaning of Christmas: the birth of Our Savior. We must take this time to remember this day of salvation and God’s true love for us.

And so, for this year’s Christmas drawing, here is something to remind us of the Nativity:

Well, it’s Christmas once again! The time of love and cheer and snow! For this year’s Christmas drawing, I decided to draw my old fantasy: Santa’s sleigh. The outline was done in Photoshop and the coloring in Copic Sketch Markers.

 

May Santa visit you with his nine reindeer while you are sleeping and bestow you with presents!
