Carnegie Medal

Ever since I joined my Carnegie Book Club in November, last year, my book reviews are all in the Carnegie Long-List or Short-List. I did write what the Carnegie Medal was in my TimeRiders report, but that was when the book reviews were in chronological order and not sorted into genre. So, I thought that I would write basically about what it is! For the original website, click here.

Basically, every year, the medal is awarded to the best children’s book. It is judged by a series of judges, who read EVERY SINGLE BOOK! No exception. They then choose the book by:

  • Character involvement
  • Plot originality
  • Suitability for children
And much more. I like the books and I wonder who the winner will be!

About The Empty Notebook

I'm a hopeful illustrator who wishes to change the world through art. I suppose, though, that I'll have to start simple - one sketch at a time.
