Floods

Because of T.V, the News especially, it is easier to know what is going on in the world. Tragedies that are happening on the other side of the world are brought to our homes all in the comfort of our living rooms. Despite this, most of us never think that it would actually happen to us. It is most unlikely. Today I’m going to write about what happened to me.

It was Thursday, just another day for me. Looking out of the window, I noticed that it was raining. Nothing big; this season was the rainy season. I needed to have a check-up with a doctor at 12:00 so I packed my bag and went out. Buckling my seat belt, my dad drove me out of the car park. That was when I finally saw all that water. From the back seat, the over-flooded road looked like a whole ocean. Two cars were totally stuck in the road, the water covering them up till the hood. Every time a car – slowly – passed, the water pushed our car backwards. We slowly backed up and went back into the car park. Whilst I was coming out of the car, the water suddenly flooded in, making the water level around up to the ankle. My dad circled the whole car park trying to find a decent parking space. Finally, he found one on higher ground. After 15 minutes, other cars were fully covered with water. We were so lucky!

Floods are quite dangerous

About The Empty Notebook

I'm a hopeful illustrator who wishes to change the world through art. I suppose, though, that I'll have to start simple - one sketch at a time.
